The Uttarakhand Congress has strongly objected to the incident in which some workers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party waved the party flag and raised slogans outside the Kedarnath Dham at a time when the shrine is closed for the winters. The spokesperson of State Congress, Sheeshpal Singh Bisht alleged that some BJP workers reached Kedarnath Dham on April 6, the foundation day of the BJP. He said that the act of the BJP workers is an insult to the Sanatan dharma and has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus in the country.
Bisht said that the incident has raised a question mark over the administration as the Dham is closed for winters and no one is allowed to visit Kedarnath during the time when its portals are closed. He said that the act of BJP workers is also an infringement on religious traditions and faith.
Bisht said that the BJP indulges in vote bank politics and for this it pretends to be empathetic for Sanatan dharma but the fact is that it hurts the sentiments of Hindus by its actions.
He said that the Congress party will take up this issue to the people of the State.
