Cong poised to form next government in U’khand- Pritam

The leader of opposition (LoP) in Uttarakhand assembly Pritam Singh has claimed that the Congress party is poised to form the next government in Uttarakhand with an overwhelming majority. He said that though the fate of all the candidates is sealed in the EVMs after the polling on February 14, the trends clearly indicate that the people of Uttarakhand have given their mandate to the Congress party. “Power change is certain to occur in Uttarakhand. The BJP is on its way out and the Congress is forming government in the state,’’ he professed. The LoP said that the BJP leaders who are claiming that their party is forming the government and having day time dreams.
Singh said that the recent video in which one person is seen ticking many ballot papers clearly shows that postal ballots are being misused. The election commission (EC) has taken cognizance of this video. He said that the election is the festival of democracy and everyone should participate in it. “In the army too every Jawan should have the right to exercise his democratic right,’’ he said.
Taking a swipe at the Narendra Modi led BJP government at centre for reacting too late in the Ukraine crisis, Singh said that the government acted when the war had actually started. He said that the Indian government thought about evacuating the stranded students when the Ukrainian air space was closed and the students were forced to travel long distances to the neighbouring country to catch flights to India.
