The Congress party has promised to set up a separate ministry to ensure the implementation of its Char Dham Char Kam slogan. The national spokesman of the Congress, Gaurav Vallabh told media persons here on Monday that a senior cabinet minister would head the ministry while a senior IAS officer would be the secretary of the department. He said that since all the four major promises of the Congress are from different departments their implementation requires inter-departmental coordination. Vallabh said that the new department would release its report at year end in which a detailed account of the promises fulfilled would be made. On the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh, Vallabh said that it has underlined the double corruption of the double engine government. In its election manifesto the Congress party has promised to provide Rs 40,000 per year to five lakh families of the state. It has also promised to provide a cooking gas cylinder at Rs 500 and the four lakh employment opportunities. It has also promised to provide door step delivery of health services.
