Cong removes former PCC President Upadhyaya from party position
He is likely to join the BJP

In a punitive action just ahead of the assembly elections the Congress party has removed former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Kishore Upadhyaya from all party positions. The senior leader has been charged with hobnobbing with the BJP in Uttarakhand and indulging in anti party activities. Upadhyaya is now expected to join the BJP.
In a letter directed to the Upadhyaya the in- charge of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav said that the people of Uttarakhand are yearning for change and are waiting to throw out the corrupt BJP government. In the letter Yadav accused Upadhyaya of hobnobbing with BJP and indulging in anti party activities.
