The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni slammed the State government for the crumbling health system of government hospitals in the State. She said that the ministers of the BJP government here are busy making rounds of Delhi concerning their party matters rather than remaining and working in the State to address the concern of general citizens like the poor health system, education, inflation, unemployment and poor roads. She said that several incidents are coming to light regarding poor health services in the government hospital.
Incidents like two pregnant women and their newborn babies forced to stay on the same bed in the women’s ward or a woman giving birth near the lift in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital are extremely shameful. Dasauni said that the non-availability of stretchers during emergencies and failure of the CT scan machine in medical institutes like All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh shows the crumbling condition of the health system in the State. This is the condition of the hospitals in prominent cities and it is not hard to guess how bad it is in the rural areas.
She said that the government here only talks about issues like Uniform Civil Code, Love Jihad, Land Jihad and religious conversion rather than talking about concerns like inflation, poor health system and unemployment among others that directly affect the general public. The government is more involved in dividing the society rather than in providing necessary facilities to the public, added Dasauni.
