The State unit of Congress party has sought clarification from the Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi on the proposed Rs 500 crore investment plan of Adani group of industries in the State.
The chief spokesperson of the State Congress Garima Dasauni said that Joshi is claiming that Adani group will invest Rs 500 crore in the agriculture sector of the State. She said that the farmers of different parts of the country are protesting against the Adani and Ambani groups of companies because they engage in purchase and sale of agricultural products on their own dictatorial terms.
She said that it appears that the BJP government is planning to hand over the agriculture produce of the State to its industrial friends under a deep rooted conspiracy. Dasauni said that the State government should construct its own cold storages.
The spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, Sheespal Singh Bisht alleged that the government has made plans to hand over the agriculture market of the State to the Adani group. He said that the State government should make its stand clear on the issue. Bisht said that it appears as if the Agriculture minister is trying to divert attention from his role in the horticulture scam and the ongoing CBI probe.
