In latest news from Doon, the State Congress is going to launch an agitation to protest against the Centre’s move to hike the LPG cylinder price by Rs 50 and increase excise duty on diesel and petrol. Speaking of the matter, the senior State Congress leader and AICC member Suryakant Dhasmana said that this hike amounted to robbery. “This is unjust, given the steady fall in the international crude oil prices,” he said.
He further said that the matter would be discussed at the AICC session scheduled in Ahmedabad. “On our return to Dehradun, we will plunge into a State-wide stir against the Centre on this price hike issue,” he added.
