Cong to organise Jan Akrosh rally in Srinagar today
BJP cannot wash away its sins of four years by changing the chief minister- Dhasmana
The first in a series of seven ‘Jan Akrosh rallies’ would be organised in Srinagar on Sunday. Incidentally it would also be the first protest of opposition Congress after the new chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat assumed office. Addressing media persons at Srinagar the vice president of Uttarakhand Congress, Surya Kant Dhasmana said on Saturday that the state has suffered a lot during the four years of rule of BJP. He said that the BJP cannot wash its sins of four years by changing the chief minister.
On a sarcastic note, Dhasmana said that the biggest achievement of the BJP government during the last four years is that the unemployment rate has increased to 22.3 percent and the state is on the first position in the country on this parameter. He said that the state is reeling under a financial crisis, the fiscal deficit has reached 14 percent and the debt has reached up to Rs 50000 Crore. Dhasmana said that the health services of the state are in a bad shape and the people are dying without treatment. He claimed that the new CM is toeing the line of his predecessor and the Congress party is determined that it would rest only after this anti-people government is shown the door. He said that the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh, state in charge Yogendra Yadav, former chief minister Harish Rawat, leader of opposition (LoP) Indira Hridayesh and other senior leaders would participate in the Srinagar Rally.
