Reacting to former chief minister Harish Rawat’s protest in Gairsain, the Bharatiya Janata Party said that Congress leaders who always opposed creation of a separate State are now talking of Gairsain’s development. BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the opposition should present constructive suggestions for the State’s development but the Congress is using Gairsain as a shield to save its own political existence. While the Congress leaders are criticising the budget, they are ignoring provision made for three free gas cylinders in a year to Antyodaya card-holders, Rs 500 crore provision for Nanda Gaura scheme, Rs 37 crore allocated to provide free textbooks to general and OBC school students and Rs 310 crore allocated for Atal Ayushman Yojana among other measures, he said.
