Cong will win Kedarnath hands down: Harish Rawat
PNS/ ROORKEE
In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Congress veteran and former chief minister Harish Rawat exuded confidence while addressing a media conference here that his party would win the Kedarnath Assembly by-poll slated on November 20 with a huge margin, riding on the growing anger of the people with the State government’s failure to contain spiralling inflation. He further raised a slew of public grievances involving Haridwar district, saying that the State government must shed its apathy and address them. He cited Rs 110 crore remaining unpaid to the sugarcane growers associated with Iqbalpur sugar mill. He said that paying their dues promptly is an imperative for helping the mill continue its operation. Besides, he flagged people’s concern over two damaged bridges- one over Solani river in Roorkee and another on Gangnahar at Libberhedi near Manglour-remaining unrepaired for a long time.
