The Bharatiya Janata Party has reiterated that its government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has not and will not spare criminals. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the allegations levelled by the Pradesh Congress Committee head Karan Mahara are baseless, adding that criminals are sent behind the bars and not protected under the BJP government. Stating this, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the allegations levelled by the Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara are totally baseless.
He said that all such cases of serious crimes which have come to the fore have elicited prompt and effective action from the government and law enforcement agencies. Effective action has been taken against the accused in such cases irrespective of their connections. He said that the Congress should clarify whether any accused has received protection in any such case. “Those accused in the Haridwar case are behind the bars and as soon as allegations were levelled against the man connected to the BJP, he was expelled from the party. The police are investigating the case with transparency and have done the needful so far. There has not been any case in which any persons connected to the BJP has been provided protection or spared from facing the law. All the serious crime cases which have come to the fore so far have been investigated without bias and the accused have been sent behind the bars,” Chauhan said.
He reminded the Congress that it needs to remember the actions which took place during the term of the first elected government of Uttarakhand under the Congress when the government machinery was acting arbitrarily and many responsible persons were directly involved in crimes. On the other hand, the State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has maintained zero tolerance for corruption and crime, taking strict and effective action in serious criminal cases ranging from land fraud to recruitment scams, the BJP State media in-charge said.
