The Congress has alleged major corruption in the Health department. The party’s state spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni alleged that to dispose of government budget and benefit some people, officials of the Health department have connived to shift the medical selection board from the Health director in Danda Lakhaund to a private building in Shastrinagar area. Questioning the state government regarding this, the Congress spokesperson asked why the medical selection board office was shifted to the private building of a BJP leader when the Health department has its own land and directorate building. She said, “This is a clear case of corruption in which officials in the Health department appear to be disposing of lakhs of rupees from the government budget on the directions of some person. Shifting the medical selection board to a private building at a rent of about Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs two lakh per month is highly questionable because the Health directorate has adequate parking and rooms. What is surprising is that there is talk of renting the health directorate office from where the medical selection board was shifted out, to a central agency.” Questioning the Health minister, she said that when the Health department is not the top priority of the minister, such cases are bound to happen.
