Congress champion of social justice: Gautam

The national president of Schedule Caste (SC) wing of All India Congress Committee (AICC),  Rajendra Pal Gautam has said that the Congress party has always supported social justice and the idea of preserving constitutional values. He was addressing a programme here on Saturday in which the newly appointed national convener of SC wing of AICC, Nanakchand of Uttarakhand took charge.

In his address, Gautam said that the Congress always strives for fulfilling the dreams of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. He added that the Congress has always worked to protect the interests and rights of SCs, backward classes and weaker sections of the society.

The former chief minister Harish said that the appointment of Nanakchand as national convener of SC wing of AICC is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. He said that the appointment of Nanak Chand is the result of his long struggle, commitment for the organization and concern for the deprived sections of the society. 

The secretary of communication wing of AICC, Vaibhav Walia said that the arrival of Gautam in Uttarakhand has infused a new energy in the workers of the Congress party. He said that true democracy is where everyone gets equal opportunities and respect. The Congress party is the strongest voice of this democracy and social justice, he said.  

The newly appointed convener of SC wing of AICC, Nanakchand said that he will work to effectively raise the voice of the SC community at the national level. He said that Uttarakhand Congress is committed to social justice.

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that everyone should take a pledge to spread the ideology of the Congress party to the masses.
