The leaders of Uttarakhand Congress have deplored the attack on the Primary Education director Ajay Kumar Naudiyal and said that the incident reflects the pathetic condition of law and order situation in the State.

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that the attack on a very senior officer by the Raipur MLA and his supporters is very unfortunate. He said that on one hand the morale of criminals is very high in the State and on the other hand the MLAs of the ruling party are engaging in such acts. Godiyal said that the anger of the teachers on the assault on the director is justified. He said that the chief minister should immediately intervene in the issue and order action against the MLA. Godiyal said that the government should also ensure that the Uttarakhand board examinations are not affected by the incident.

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, Garima Dasauni said that the incident in which the Raipur MLA barged into the office of the director with some of his supporters is unfortunate. She said that the assault is also an attack on the self-esteem of an officer and the morale of the entire administration has been affected by it.

Dasauni said that the incident shows that the law and order situation in the State is very pathetic and involvement of a ruling party MLA in the attack shows that the criminal elements are being protected by the government. She demanded action against all those involved in the attack. All the anti-social elements who accompanied the MLA should also be identified and booked, she added.
