The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the Congress is conspiring to hamper the process of counting of votes polled in the Lok Sabha elections fearing its electoral defeat. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt claimed that the party is going to win all the five parliamentary seats in Uttarakhand.
Interacting with the media at the party State office here on Monday, Bhatt said that the allegations levelled by the Congress regarding the Election Commission of India and the vote counting process are baseless. He said that the Congress is certain of its defeat in the elections and is hence spreading lies and confusion to prepare excuses for its loss. He said that the Congress is conspiring to hamper the counting process and creating suspicion on the ECI’s reliability. “The Congress leaders are fully aware of the ground reality of their party and it has become nearly impossible for them to digest this third consecutive defeat. This is the reason why the Congress is busy acting on its conspiracy to question the BJP’s valid victory by raising questions at the counting process of postal ballots, electronic voting machines and the impartiality of the electoral officials. There is considerable enthusiasm among the people of Uttarakhand and party workers regarding the election results to be declared on Tuesday. We are confident that the BJP candidates will win on all the five parliamentary seats in Uttarakhand by record margins,” Bhatt said.
