The Uttarakhand Congress has said that the tragic death of a child in a building collapse in a school has exposed the apathetic attitude of the state administration. The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said on Thursday that the education system in Uttarakhand has been crumbling in the last six years. She said that the Congress party had continuously drawn attention of the government on falling standards of education and dilapidated school buildings but the BJP government paid no heed.
Referring to the incumbent Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat and his predecessor Arvind Pandey, the Congress leader said that instead of action on ground both of them only believe in issuing statements. She said that the State government should immediately order repair of the damaged buildings of the schools so that precious lives are protected.
