Congress gears up for Urban Local Bodies elections

The Uttarakhand Congress has started preparing for the upcoming elections of urban local bodies (ULBs) in the State.
In view of the upcoming elections of ULBs, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara appointed in-charges in all the 13 districts on Tuesday. He appointed senior leader Surveer Singh Sajwan as the in-charge of Dehradun district. Former secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Prakash Joshi has been made the in-charge of Haridwar district while vice president Surya Kant Dhasmana would be the in- charge of Uttarkashi district.
Former cabinet minister Surendra Singh Negi would be the in-charge of Tehri district while MLA Madan Singh Bisht , former cabinet minister Mantri Prasad Naithani and Jot Singh Gunsola would be the in-charges of Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pauri districts respectively. Bhagirath Bhatt will be the in-charge of Pithoragarh, former MP Mahendra Singh Pal would be the in-charge of Champawat while MLA Harish Dhami and Satish Nainwal would be the in-charges of Almora and Bageshwar districts respectively. Former speaker of Vidhan Sabha Govind Singh Kunjwal would be the in-charge of Nainital district while former MLA Ranjit Rawat would be the in-charge of Udham Singh Nagar district.
The PCC president has asked all the in-charges to visit the districts assigned to them and coordinate with the senior leaders, former MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, MLA candidates of 2022 Assembly elections and heads of district, Mahanagar and Vidhan Sabha committees and make preparations for the ULB elections.
