Congress holds state wide protest in U’khand

In protest against what they termed as failure of the state and central government in every field the Congress party workers and leaders organised a vehement protest in all district headquarters of the state. The party workers also burned effigies of the state government in these protests. In Dehradun, the Pradesh Congress Committee ( PCC) president Pritam Singh and deputy leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Karan Mahra took part in the protest organised by the Mahanagar unit.
The PCC president said that the state-wide protests are being held for the failure of the government to control prices of all commodities, increasing atrocities on women and rampant unemployment. He said that the prices of Petrol, diesel, cooking gas and edible oil have skyrocketed and the general public is reeling under its effect. Singh said that the incidents of rape and crime against women are increasing and the farmers of the country are under the burden of debt. He said that the state unit of the Congress party has decided to march to the residence of the Chief Minister of state on July 10 on these issues.
