Union Home minister Amit Shah alleged that the Congress has illegally settled Rohingyas in Uttarakhand. The Congress leaders seek ration cards for such illegal settlers from the district magistrates but Bharatiya Janata Party leaders do not do so. The BJP government which will be formed in Uttarakhand will evict each illegal Rohingya settler from the state. Shah said this while addressing public rallies in various assembly constituencies of the state on Saturday. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed public rallies on Saturday. He lambasted the Congress and reiterated that re-electing the BJP in Uttarakhand is vital for the welfare of the state and its people.
Shah opined that people of Uttarakhand have made up their mind to re-elect the BJP. “Harish Rawat said that a Muslim university will be established on formation of a Congress government in Uttarakhand. The Congress can never protect our culture, which only the BJP can do. Priyanka Vadra said ‘Char Dham Char Kam’ but they will only take four ‘daam’ (prices)- their MLAs will collect money, their ministers, their chief minister and the family sitting in Delhi will all collect money,” he said. Shah said that the Congress lacks the intention and capability to ensure development. Only the double-engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can ensure the desired development, he said. Continuing his attack on the Congress, he said that terms of Congress governments in Uttarakhand were marred by corruption and scams. During the term of the Congress at the centre, Uttarakhand was ignored consistently for 10 years. “Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the BJP government made 80,000 homes in Uttarakhand. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka should say how many homes were built here during their term. We have initiated major developments- work is underway on Rs 12,000 crore all-weather road to connect the Char Dham along with Rishikesh-Karnprayag and Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail projects. The construction of the Delhi-Dehradun elevated road is also in progress,” said the Union minister while listing the major developments achieved by the BJP government. Shah addressed rallies in Dhanaulti, Sahaspur and Raipur constituencies.
Addressing the public in Tehri, Adityanath opined that the Congress is going downhill across the nation. Expressing confidence that BJP will retain power in both Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, he said that the BJP government is vital in Uttarakhand as it will prevent criminals escaping from UP from settling here. He said that Uttarakhand had the potential to provide employment to millions through tourism. Referring to BJP’s Tehri candidate Kishore Upadhyaya, he said, “I gave him the invitation to join BJP 15 years ago.” Adityanath also addressed a public rally in Kotdwar constituency.
