The Uttarakhand BJP has taken a strong exception to the statement of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara in which he had termed the rescue mission as part of event management of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The media in charge of State BJP Manvir Chauhan said that the attitude of the Congress party is insensitive and it has insulted the rescue team which saved the lives of labourers in Silkyara. Expressing happiness on safe evacuation of labourers in Silkyara, Chauhan said that the comments of PCC president reflect the negative mindset of the Congress party. He said that on one hand the entire country was praying for the safe exit of the labourers, the Congress party was engaged in negative politics and tried to demoralise everyone.
He said that the Congress party has got so immersed in the opposition of BJP that it views the entire operation in which the lives of the labourers were at stake as an event. The BJP leader said that the State government has given a financial assistance of Rs one lakh to every worker and has provided an incentive of Rs 50,000 to the rat miners engaged in the rescue mission.
He said that the disasters should be faced collectively and everyone should refrain from politics on the disasters. It is unfortunate that the Congress party has always shown political opportunism in every disaster, he added.
