Terming the Congress party as the fountainhead of corruption the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the people of Uttarakhand would restrict the party to fewer seats in assembly than it secured in the last elections. Addressing media persons here on Monday the CM launched a blistering attack on the Congress party by referring to it as synonymous with corruption and calling its symbol as a bloody hand (Khooni Panja). He said that the upcoming elections would be a contest between their misdeeds and our works ( Unke Karname Hamare Kaam). The CM said that the people of the state have not forgotten their misdeeds before 2017 and said that the mafia was getting protection. In an oblique reference to former CM Harish Rawat, Dhami said that the people who opposed creation of Uttarakhand are now giving sermons on Uttarakhandiyat. “These are the people who had called General Bipin Rawat as a Gali Ka Gunda . Their only objective is to corner votes by any means,’’ he said.
The CM said that he has traveled extensively to all parts of the state and is sure that the BJP would get the blessing of all sections of the society. He said that the BJP government is working on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under which he wants Uttarakhand to become the leading state of the country by the year 2025. “ To fulfill the dream of PM Modi we are creating a ten year road map for development of the state,’’ he said.
Claiming that the focus of all the schemes of his government is to ensure the benefit of the person standing on the last ladder of the society, Dhami said that the concept of Antyodaya is followed by his government. He said that the road, rail and air connectivity has increased tremendously in the last four and half years. Dhami said that under PM Modi projects worth Rs one Lakh crore have been sanctioned.
“ The capacity of Dehradun airport has been increased from 250 to 1600 persons and it is being developed as per the international standards. The DPR of the Pithoragarh airport is ready and we have created new air routes. Work in every sector is clearly visible,’’ he claimed.
Dhami further added that the long-standing demand of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kumaon has been fulfilled. He said that as a CM he has taken more than 500 decisions and Government Order (GO) have been issued. The CM added that the election dates for Uttarakhand are announced and the BJP is ready for the elections and is confident of victory.
