Congress’ Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra a drama after protecting illegal mosque in HP: Bhatt

The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the Congress of double standards for protecting an illegally constructed mosque in Himachal Pradesh while undertaking the Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra in Uttarakhand. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the Congress is more concerned about criminal elements from outside than the prestige of the residents of Uttarakhand.
In a statement released to the media on Friday, Bhatt said that the Congress opposes Sanatan Dharma across the nation and abroad but shamelessly undertook a rally purportedly for the prestige of Kedarnath Dham. “The people are seeing how such people are politically exploiting Kedarnath to save their own prestige. They travelled mostly in cars and walked a few stretches to reach Kedarnath but left behind whatever was left of their party’s prestige. The local residents were not involved anywhere in the Congress Yatra, which was carried out mostly with the support of people from outside till Sitapur earlier. This is the reason why the locals are miffed at the Congress for its insensitivity during the time of disaster. They saw that their aim was far from being met so they suspended their rally and then resumed it formally now. The people have fully understood that all this is aimed at the Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha bypoll,” Bhatt said.
The BJP State president further said that the people of Uttarakhand are wondering how a party busy in minority appeasement and Hindu-bashing suddenly felt concerned for Kedarnath. “This is at a time when the Congress government facilitated illegal construction of mosques in Shimla and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The Congress acted out a political sham in the name of Kedarnath Dham. When people of Rudraprayag and elsewhere in Uttarakhand were putting up boards to warn criminal elements from outside the State, it was the Congress which raised objections to the people wanting to protect themselves. Similarly, when illegal religious structures built as part of the conspiracy to alter Uttarakhand’s demography are demolished, it is the Congress leaders who are most disturbed,” Bhatt added.
