Congress leaders brainstorm on future plan and strategy

Senior leaders of Uttarakhand Congress participated in a brainstorming session on Thursday in which the party’s future strategy and plan to start a public movement against the policies of the BJP government in the State. The meeting was held in a virtual mode. The co-in charges the State Congress Surendra Sharma and Pargat Singh asked the party leaders to prepare a plan for a public movement against anti-people policies of the State.

 The former chief minister Harish Rawat suggested that the communal card of the BJP in the State should be countered with a call for Uttarakhandi pride and aspiration and said that a campaign called ‘Uttarakhandi Chhon’ should be launched by the party. 

The leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Arya said that corruption is at its peak in the State and the mining mafia is getting protection from the government. He said that the State government is on the backfoot on the issue of land laws and the BJP leaders are engaged in petty politics of dividing the people of the State on regional lines.

 Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that the Congress party is committed to protect harmony and love in the society. He said that all the leaders of the Congress party will follow the orders of the central leadership and effectively protest against the anti-people policies of the BJP government. 

AICC secretary Qazi Nizamuddin said that the BJP is engaging in the politics of communal polarisation and the Congress party will expose this in the public.

Former Member of Parliament Pradeep Tamta said that the BJP is exploiting the dalits and is trying to use them as a vote bank.

 The PCC president Karan Mahara said that the suggestions of all the leaders are praiseworthy. He said that all the district presidents and every worker of the Congress party are working actively to expose the rampant corruption, inappropriate comments of the BJP leaders and the issue of the irregularities in the voter list in the recent elections of the urban local bodies in the State. Mahara added that the party will organise a training session on March 21 and 22 for the district presidents and to make the programme effective a special meeting of senior leaders of the party has been convened on March 19. He said that the party is trying to formulate a strong strategy against the anti-people and divisive policies of the BJP government.
