The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the Congress is playing politics with the youth on the pretext of the demand for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the recruitment test scams. The BJP State spokesman Suresh Joshi said that the State government has brought the strongest anti-copying law in the nation. However, the Congress which opposes CBI in New Delhi is seeking a probe by the agency in Uttarakhand to keep the youth away from employment.
Addressing the media at the party’s State office on Sunday, Joshi said that record arrests were made after unprecedented and strict action in all cases of malpractices which were exposed in various recruitment examinations. “As promised, the State government is working as per the recruitment calendar to provide employment to the youth on various posts. However, with malpractices coming to light in old and current recruitment cases along with bail being secured by some of the arrested accused, the State government brought the nation’s strongest anti-copying law which has provision for 10 years to life in prison for those orchestrating such scams and three to seven years jail for those caught copying in the exam,” said Joshi.
He accused the Congress of playing with the youth of the State on the pretext of the demand for CBI investigation. “On the one hand, Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders in New Delhi oppose all probes by the CBI and Enforcement Directorate while on the other hand the party leaders in Uttarakhand are instigating the youth on the pretext of the demand for a CBI investigation. The priority of our government is to act against corruption and ensure a swift recruitment process. The priority of the Congress is to demand a CBI probe and delay the recruitment process and keep the unemployed away from jobs to gain political benefit,”he added. Replying to a question regarding the protest by the unemployed youth outside Gandhi Park taking a violent turn on Thursday, he said that on the directions of the chief minister, the Garhwal commissioner is conducting a probe into the incident. This will bring the truth to the front and ascertain the identity of the anti-social elements who infiltrated the protesting youth, said the BJP State spokesman. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Chauhan, State spokesmen Vinod Suyal, Vipin Kainthola and others were also present at the Press conference.
