The Congress party has promised to make the parking of two wheelers free when its government is formed in the state. The party also claimed that it will solve the issue of loss incurred to the farmers by the boars and monkeys. The national spokesman of Congress, Gaurav Vallabh told media persons here on Saturday that in Dehradun and other cities hefty parking fee is charged on two wheelers due to which the people tend to park vehicles in non designated areas. “It creates problems in the flow of traffic and often vehicle theft occurs. We have decided that our government will charge no parking fee from two wheelers from March 10 at designated places in all parts of the state,’’ he said.
Vallabh added that apart from unemployment the reduction in profitability in farming is a major cause of migration from mountainous areas. He said that the Congress government would enter into a contract with the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) to address the problem of loss caused by the monkeys and wild boars.
On the question that chief minister Pushar Singh Dhami has made a promise to enforce uniform civil code in Uttarakhand, the national spokesperson said that the BJP does not talk about employment code, a code to reduce the rising price and an anti corruption code. He said that the fear of imminent defeat is clearly shown in the desperate statements of CM and other BJP leaders. Vallabh said that CM Dhami who takes pride in calling himself a Young CM is actually anti Youth as he has done nothing to give employment to the youth.
