Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a scathing attack on the Congress party at an election rally in Chopta (Talla Nagpur) of Rudraprayag district on Saturday by accusing it of promoting and abetting land, love and spit Jihad in Uttarakhand.
Addressing a well attended public meeting in support of BJP candidate for Kedarnath Assembly bypoll Asha Nautiyal, Dhami said that the Congress party engaged in politics of appeasement during its rule in the State due to which infiltrators entered the State in large numbers which changed the demography. The CM said that his government has freed more than 5,000 hectares of land from the clutches of the land Jihadis in the State. He averred that the BJP government will not allow any of the infiltrators to succeed in the nefarious intentions they have towards women. “My government has acted against the land, love and spit Jihad in Uttarakhand and we will not allow anyone to tamper with the faith and aspirations of the State. We will soon table a strict land law in the State,’’ he said.
Dhami said that he has fulfilled his promise on Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the State and implemented a strict anti-copying law due which more than 19,000 youngsters have got government jobs in the past three years. He claimed that more than 100 people associated with the copying mafia are behind bars. He said that Uttarakhand and Kedar valley are moving forward on the path of development and this year more than 16 lakh pilgrims have undertaken the Yatra. The CM said that the Congress has become restless at the development activities undertaken in Kedarnath and it is a pity that those who were talking about setting up a Muslim university in the State are now talking about Kedarnath. The CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an ardent follower of Baba Kedar and he is the first PM to have visited Kedarnath shrine seven times.
Dhami said that he stands with the people during the disaster by going to ground zero and this time also more than 16,000 pilgrims were safely evacuated during the disaster in Kedarnath. He also accused the Congress of spreading lies and dividing the people.
Dhami said that the BJP has always given respect to women and has provided 30 per cent reservation to women of the State in government jobs. The ticket to Asha Nautiyal shows the respect the party has for the women, he said. The CM appealed to people to ensure victory of the BJP candidate in Kedarnath.
The BJP national general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, candidate Asha Nautiyal, Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Chaudhary and other leaders were present in the meeting.
