The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the propaganda being spread by the Congress regarding the Covishield vaccine is part of its political agenda. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the Congress is frustrated and anxious due to the developmental efforts undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi which is why it is resorting to unethical behaviour. He said that the Congress is spreading confusion on the issue of the vaccine for political gains without any concrete evidence on it. The company which manufactured the vaccine had already made it clear in the past that its side effects are rare, he said.
“The intentions of the Congress are clear considering its allegations. It is questioning the quality of the vaccine and linking the issue with electoral bonds which is a sign of opportunistic politics. Questions were raised regarding the side effects of all vaccines made across the world during the Covid-19 pandemic but the instances of side effects of the vaccine made in India were rare. When it was needed during the pandemic, this vaccine helped protect the lives of crores of people after its manufacturing was passed after stringent tests and research involving scientists of India and abroad. The company manufacturing the vaccine in India had already clarified the possible side effects but the risk was for less that one out of one lakh people administered the vaccine,” Chauhan added.
