Congress pushes for CBI probe in paper leak case

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The Congress party has thrown its weight behind the demand of the students regarding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case. The party has decided to organise a protest march to the residence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on October 3 on the issue.

On Saturday, former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal visited the site of protest of the Uttarakhand Berojgar Sangh at the Parade Ground. He said that the people in power are trying to protect the mafia involved in the paper leak case. He said that by linking the paper leak with ‘Nakal  Jihad’ the BJP government is trying to communalise a sensitive issue associated with the future of the students of the State. Godiyal assured that the Congress party is standing shoulder to shoulder with the unemployed on the issue.

Interacting with the media-persons at the Rajiv Bhawan on Saturday, the PCC vice president Suryakant Dhasmana said that the youngsters of the State are demanding CBI probe in the UKSSSC paper leak case but the government in order to put the issue under the mat has ordered a SIT investigation headed by a retired judge of High Court. Dhasmana said that both the unemployed and the Congress party have rejected the SIT probe in the case. He said that the accusation of the BJP that the Congress party is instigating the youngsters is false but the fact is that the Congress party is standing firmly with the youngsters on the issue.
