The Congress has claimed that the State government has asked a large number of Anganwadi workers to attend the Global Investors Summit-2023. The party alleged that this has been done to show the venue of the summit crowded with people.
The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that the summit is being organised for the industrialists and inviting Anganwadi workers is beyond apprehensions and raises questions. She said that the work of these workers is to work in field to provide nourishment to the children. Dasauni said that complaints are being received that large number of these workers from different districts have been asked to attend the summit. She claimed that arrangement for food is also not made for these workers which expose the arrangements being done for the summit.
The Congress leader said that this summit will have the same fate of the similar summit organised in the year 2018 which was a failure. She said that the State government is harassing the shopkeepers by forcing them to change their hoardings. Dasauni added that hundreds of roadside vendors, potters and petty shopkeepers have been forcibly removed from the roads to keep the industrialists in good humor.
