The Bharatiya Janata Party State spokesman Vinod Suyal said that the Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra of the Congress has turned out to be a flop show. He opined that the activity lacks thought and is based on a political agenda. Such rallies are bound to fail, he said. Suyal claimed that members of the public and even members of the Congress are maintaining a distance from this political rally.

Referring to allegations levelled by the Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara, the BJP spokesman said that the people have given their opinion by maintaining a distance from the political rally of the Congress. “Everybody knows that the party which has worked against Sanatan Dharma is now pretending concern for lord Kedarnath. These Hindus by convenience opposed displaying the identity of vendors on the Kanwad Yatra route to honour the religious sentiments and practices of the Kanwadias. They use the sacred picture of Lord Shiva for politics. The Congress has a history of anti-Sanatan actions and even today, insulting the Hindus for appeasement of particular sections of society is part of their policy. They are now taking out this Yatra to gain political points in view of the Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha by-election,” Suyal said.

He further alleged that the Congress is habituated to indulging in corruption, which is why it sees corruption in all activities. “The aim of the Congress is to spread confusion and lies regarding the sacred sites of the Hindus so that the pilgrimage is affected. This will cause economic loss to the local people. The rally of the Congress in the name of Shiva is an assault on the livelihoods of the people and they will give a befitting reply to the Congress. As far as the gold donated to the Kedarnath temple is concerned, the devotee donated the gold, which was used in the temple but the Congress was unable to digest this good work. The Congress is indulging in propaganda here and even regarding the temple which is to be constructed in Delhi,” he added.
