Congress rally a flop, apologise for abusing PM Modi: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

Even as the Congress claimed that its ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ rally in Delhi was a resounding success, the Bharatiya Janata Party has termed it a flop. The BJP said that the people have ousted those indulging in vote theft in 2014, but the Congress is ignoring the will of the people and venting out its frustration by abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for which it should apologise.

The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the party has nothing to do with the political activities of the Congress but the manner in which they wished the worst for the PM is not acceptable. In the past too, the Congress and its allies used abusive language on more than 150 occasions. Legal action is underway in some of these cases but the Congress leaders and workers raised slogans about digging the PM’s grave, which is unacceptable. Bhatt said that the abusive language being directed at PM Modi is motivated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s speeches while also being encouraged by the party’s high command.

The Congress should immediately seek a public apology for this, failing which the nationalist people of Uttarakhand will not let the Congress win a single seat in the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections, he said. The BJP State president further said that considering the number of participants and the issues, the Congress rally in Delhi was a flop. Considering the number of the party’s Vidhan Sabha in-charges and the number of times the party’s State leadership visited Delhi, the number of people from the State who reached Delhi was even lesser. “The people of Uttarakhand know that the ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ issue was resolved in 2014. Before that, the Congress had been indulging in vote theft since independence but the people voted it out of power in the Centre. After that, the people sent the Congress out of office in 2017 in the State.

The Congress leaders were under the wrong impression that they were going to a rally whereas it was more of a formality in Rahul Gandhi’s name, after which he will leave for a holiday after delegating tasks to the party workers,” Bhatt said.
