Uttarakhand Congress has said that the preference given to the leaders with Congress background in the expansion of Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet shows that there is a dearth of leaders in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Pradesh Congress Committee president, Ganesh Godiyal said that three of the five newly inducted ministers, Ram Singh Kaida, Pradeep Batra and Bharat Singh Chaudhary were in the Congress party earlier. He said that the ministers of Congress background were already in majority in Dhami cabinet and by inducting more such leaders in his cabinet, the CM has shown that in BJP priority is given to leaders who have defected to it from other parties. “ The CM has again shown that the real workers who have toiled hard for years and have brought the party to power have no value other than laying mats for the party programmes,’’ he said.
Godiyal said that the cabinet expansion was done after a period of four years by CM Dhami to suppress internal rifts in the ruling BJP. Congratulating the newly inducted ministers, Godiyal hoped that cabinet will take a positive decision on making Gairsain, the permanent capital of the State in its next meeting.
Former PCC president Karan Mahara said that the BJP which claims to have a worker based party organisation has again neglected its real workers in the cabinet expansion and has inducted leaders of Congress background in the Dhami cabinet. He said the BJP workers are now feeling neglected by the party leadership and resentment is brewing in the party.
The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that seven out of 11 ministers of Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet are from Congress background which shows that the BJP has a dearth of leaders.
The spokesperson of State Congress Abhinav Thapar said that the cabinet expansion is part of the election management of the BJP.
