In an attempt to corner the ruling BJP on the issue of development, the Congress party has launched ‘Mere Vikas Ka Hisab Do’ campaign. The State vice president of the party, Mathura Dutt Joshi said that the objective of the campaign is to direct the ongoing election campaign on the real issues of the general public and to seek the account of development done in the last 10 years from the Union and State governments.

He said that the BJP and its leaders are trying to divert the attention of people by raising emotional issues. Joshi said that the Congress party wants the elections to be contested on the real issues and for this it has decided to throw questions at BJP.  He claimed that it is for the first time that the BJP has been cornered and under pressure so it is now trying to find a way out.  Joshi said that in the campaign, Congress will ask BJP as to why 83 per cent of total unemployed are youngsters and where are the two crore jobs which PM Narendra Modi promised to give every year. The Congress will also ask questions on 30 lakh vacant posts in government departments and seek the government’s reply on a series of paper leaks. Joshi added that questions on suicide of farmers, MSP guarantee and waiving off of Rs 16.0 lakh crore loan of corporate houses will also be asked by the Congress.
