Congress set to wrest Bageshwar seat in the upcoming by-election: Mahara

Desperate to make its presence felt in the saffron agenda-dominated political landscape of Uttarakhand, the State Congress president Karan Mahara said that his party is all set to wrest Bageshwar seat from the BJP in the upcoming by-election necessitated by the death of the MLA and minister Chandan Ram Dass. While talking to the media persons in Haldwani, Mahara said that his party has been regaining ground, going from strength to strength across the State. “Discussion has been going on among the party leaders to zero on the party’s candidate for the crucial by-election,” he said, adding that his party would make the spiraling rates of unemployment and inflation, corruption and worsening law and order with particular stress on the unsolved Ankita Bhandari murder case the principal themes of its campaign.
