Congress should check past appointments instead of asking meaningless questions: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has opined that the questions being raised by the Congress regarding appointments in the Vidhan Sabha are meaningless now. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the intentions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have been clear since the beginning, due to which a detailed probe was held into the said appointments and the illegal appointments were terminated.
Bhatt stated that not only in the Vidhan Sabha appointments but investigations are being conducted with transparency and action is being taken wherever something is wrong. “As far as the CM’s directions regarding the appointments are concerned, during 2005-07 the then chief minister ND Tiwari and in 2016 the then chief minister Harish Rawat had also approved posts in the Vidhan Sabha- in both instances during the term of the Congress State government. The Congress needs to look at itself too. The government approves posts while recruitment is the Vidhan Sabha’s authority. The government grants approval when the Vidhan Sabha seeks it for posts. The government does not decide how the recruitments are made.
When the complaint about irregularities in the recruitments came up, the CM took cognisance and wrote a letter to the Vidhan Sabha speaker requesting necessary action. After the expert committee’s report was received, approval was also granted for termination of the wrong appointments. The Congress needs to assess facts correctly. The politics of allegations and counter allegations will not achieve anything,” said the BJP State president.
