Congress takes out Akrosh Rally in Dehradun

In protest against what it claims increasing unemployment, harassment of students , deteriorating law and order situation and demand for justice for Ankita Bhandari, the Uttarakhand Congress organised a Jan Akrosh rally in Dehradun on Saturday.
Addressing the party workers, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that the people of Uttarakhand are reeling under price rise and the youngsters are disappointed. He said that the State government has failed in delivering justice to Ankita Bhandari. Godiyal said that incidents of police atrocity on students are unfortunate.
Former chief minister Harish Rawat said the crime against women is increasing but the government has become only a mute spectator. He said the rally is a manifestation of anger of the people.
The coordinator of the rally Ritesh Chetri said that the Congress demands justice for Ankita Bhandari and employment for the unemployed. He claimed that 50 to 60 posters for the rally were torn by authorities which shows that the Congress is being targeted. Large number of leaders and workers of the Congress party attended the rally.
