Congress to hold protest on increasing prices of LPG gas, diesel and petrol: Dhasmana

The Vice President (organisation) of Uttarakhand Congress, Suryakant Dhasmana has said that instead of reducing the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas in wake of the plummeting international price of crude oil, the BJP government has increased the prices of LPG cylinders.

Interacting with the media persons in Dehradun before departing to Ahmedabad, Gujarat for the extending working committee session of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Dhasmana said that the government has hiked the LPG cylinder by Rs 50 per cylinder.  

He said that the international price of crude is decreasing continuously but instead of passing on the benefit to consumers the government has increased the excise duty on the diesel and petrol and has cornered more than Rs 36000 crore.

Dhasmana said that the increase in prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas has resulted in an overall increase in prices due to which the general public is facing problems. He said that after the return of senior leaders of the State Congress from Ahmedabad, the State unit of the party will launch an agitation on the increase in the petrol, diesel and cooking gas.
