The Bharatiya Janata Party has said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent Dehradun event turned out to be a flop, contrary to claims of about 2.5 lakh students registering for it. The Congress is now levelling allegations to vent its frustration, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said.
“The Congress has not clarified whether it held the interaction with youth due to concern for them or was looking for a political opportunity by misleading them. Its claims including 2.5 lakh registrations for the event turned out to be hollow as middle aged persons from other States appeared in the form of students here. The Congress was already in a fix and started accusing the government on failing to get the Parade Ground as the venue. It had to face a test in the Bannu ground and everybody saw the arrangements. The Congress high command would have come to know the reality if the Parade Ground had been allocated for the event,” he said.
Chauhan further said that the Congress in-charge appeared to be venting frustration on Gandhi’s flop show on the BJP after the event. The NEET exam was cancelled and the re-examination has also taken place but the Congress is still making the same statements. Recruitment scams are a thing of the past in Uttarakhand with the malpractice mafia thwarted by a strict anti-copying law. All exams are being conducted in a transparent manner, he averred. “The Congress lacks the moral right to talk on corruption because it was of corruption that the Congress was ousted from power in the State. The data on employment and self-employment show that the State’s youth are satisfied. With self-employment and reservation, the doors to progress for women have also been opened. Despite the Congress’ propaganda, the public continues to support the BJP,” Chauhan added.
