Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also took part in the consecration ceremony of the Baba Boukhnag Temple. For the ceremony, he brought offerings and puja material from his residence in Dehradun. During the Silkyara rescue mission, the CM had camped at the site to supervise and monitor the operation and had vowed to construct a temple dedicated to Baba Boukhnag for the successful rescue of the trapped workers.
He said that when Baba Boukhnag was enshrined at the tunnel’s entrance, the rescue operation progressed successfully. “At that time, I had announced the construction of a grand temple, and now with its consecration, that promise has been fulfilled. Devotees will now be able to seek blessings from Baba Boukhnag,’’ he said.
Recalling the incident of November 12, 2023, the CM said that in that dark tunnel, where even hope seemed to fade, Baba Boukhnag emerged as a beacon of strength and belief.
