Construction of a modern dairy plant to start soon in Lalkuan: Bhatt

In latest Uttarakhand news, during the 74th annual general meeting of the Nainital Milk Producers Cooperative Union held in Bhimtal, a budget of Rs 246 crore for the financial year 2024-25 was passed. The Union minister of state for defence Ajay Bhatt inaugurated the meeting. While lauding the success of the Nainital Milk Union in strengthening the milk cooperatives across Nainital district, he said that the construction work involving a modern dairy plant with one lakh liter daily milk production capacity would start soon in Lalkuan. He further said that three ambulances will be brought into operation in three developmental blocks in the first phase with the purpose of treating the ailing milch animals at the homes of the livestock farmers and such ambulance services would be provided in other developmental blocks soon.
While addressing the meeting, the president of the Nainital Milk Union Mukesh Bora said that a new initiative has been taken at this meeting to further enhance the milk trade in the mountainous areas which would yield immensely positive results in future. He further said that Aanchal Dairy had hiked the prices of milk and milk products by Rs 8 in one year and the price would again be hiked by Re 1 from August 25 on the directive of the State milk production minister Saurabh Bahuguna. The general manager of the Nainital Milk Producers Cooperative Union Nirbhay Narayan Singh presented the progress report of the Milk Union in the session while several suggestions were presented by the members of the union.
