Consumer Awareness Comic Series unveiled to promote insurance literacy

To further the vision of ‘Insurance for All’, the chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), Ajay Seth unveiled a consumer awareness comic book series aimed at simplifying life insurance concepts and increasing awareness among consumers.
The initiative, launched on the occasion of National Insurance Awareness Day, aims to explain key concepts such as MWP (Minimum Wise Insurance Plan), Waiver of Premium (WIP), and Critical Illness Rider, Seth said, adding that they are presented through stories relevant to everyday life rather than technical language.
This series follows the journey of Supriya, a young life insurance advisor. It presents real-life situations as ‘story memories.’
Unveiling the comic book series, the chairman, IAC Life, Kamlesh Rao said, “India’s growth story is shaped by the aspirations, progress and perseverance of its people. As the country moves towards a more inclusive and sustainable economy.”
The secretary general, Life Insurance Council, Aditya Gupta, also spoke on the occasion. “Despite significant progress over the years in increasing insurance access and awareness, many families in the country still remain financially vulnerable to unexpected life circumstances,” he said.
The industry leaders present emphasised that bridging this protection gap and driving wider adoption of life insurance is essential for long-term financial strength.
