Control room set up to address gas supply concerns in Dehradun

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

In response to the ongoing conflict in West Asia and the potential disruptions to natural gas shipments, a control room has been established at the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) to address concerns related to natural gas and cooking gas supply and distribution. This setting up of this control room was directed by the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal in compliance with the Natural Gas Supply Regulation Order 2026 issued by the Government of India under the Essential Commodities Act.

According to officials, the control room aims to ensure the equitable distribution and continuous availability of natural gas, domestic PNG and CNG. It will also address complaints regarding hoarding or black marketing of natural gas, LPG or CNG by any individual or organization.

Further, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) will each nominate representatives to the control room. These representatives will be available in the disaster control room daily from 11 AM to 1 PM. They will provide updated information about gas supply and distribution and will work to resolve issues related to black marketing, illegal storage and refilling by registering complaints to alleviate any fears or doubts about supply among the general public, district officials added.
