Pauri Sangarsh Samiti convener Naman Chandola has claimed that the first convention of the committee to be held today in Pauri has received massive support from public and various organisations. Different organisations had raised their voice to address the problems of the district headquarter Pauri from time to time for a long period but the State government and district administration have remained apathetic towards the demands to solve the problems of the public. He said that now the time has come to fight together for the redressal of the problems of Pauri town.
Chandola said that Pauri has been facing various problems for a long time including lack of proper disposal of garbage, irregularties in the district hospital, water tax, house tax and encroachment, but the district administration and government have done nothing to address the problems of the public. He questioned why Pauri is not provided free water when 10,000 litres water is provided free in Srinagar. The residents of Pauri are facing the issues of water tax and house tax, but the administration is not in the mood to give relief the public.He further said that all organisations, political leaders and former municipal councillors are supporting this convention to be held today.
It is pertinent to mention here that the locals state that the regional and district headquarter Pauri has been neglected since the creation of Uttarakhand.
