Cooperate in probe & judicial process instead of making statements in media: BJP

Reacting to former chief minister Harish Rawat’s statement on the notice issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the sting operation case, the Bharatiya Janata Party said that it was the trust of the public on which the robbery was committed and now the accused are being investigated. Those who were served the notices should cooperate in the probe and judicial process.
The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said in a statement that the case is being investigated without bias by the CBI and that the truth in the matter will come to fore under the judicial process. Bhatt said, “All have seen those who were giving out license to rob the resources of the State on camera to save their government. The people also want the guilty to be brought to book.” Rejecting the statement made by former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat seeking quashing of the case, Bhatt said that the talk of withdrawing the case is being done today when the accused and the accuser are both in the same party and contenders for fighting the election from the same seat. The people of the State will never forgive those who were offering the resources of the State to be robbed. This is why the people gave BJP the mandate to run a government with zero tolerance for corruption, said the party’s State president.
Taking a dig at Harish Rawat who called himself the victim in this case, Bhatt said that the attempt to rob was being made on the State’s resources and the people of Uttarakhand have seen it all in the sting operation. “At times the Congress expresses distrust on the CBI while in other cases it demands a probe by the CBI and then again raises questions at the impartiality of the agency. Irrespective of whether the Congress trusts an investigation agency like the CBI, the public does not have an iota of trust in the Congress Instead of making statements in the media, they should cooperate in the investigation and judicial process,” said Bhatt.
