The state health department reported only 16 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 26 recoveries from the disease on Thursday. No death from the disease was reported on the day in the state. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,43,167 while a total of 3,29,387 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7389 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.98 while the sample positivity rate on Wednesday was 0.08 per cent.
The state health department reported four new patients of Covid -19 from Champawat and Haridwar, two each from Chamoli and Nainital and one each from Bageshwar, Dehradun, Pauri and Udham Singh Nagar on Thursday. No new cases were reported from Almora, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts on the day.
The state now has 331 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 157 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Chamoli has 29 active cases. Tehri district has only one active case of the disease.
In the ongoing vaccination drive, 68,636 people were vaccinated in 1149 sessions in the state held on Thursday. As per the data of the state health department 69,12,695 people in the state have received the first dose of vaccine while 22,80,450 have received both doses of the vaccine.
