Covid-19; 171 new cases, eight deaths in U’khand

Record number of beneficiaries vaccinated on Tuesday
The state health department reported 171 new cases and eight deaths from Covid 19 in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The cumulative count of patients in the state has now increased to 3,38,978 while the death toll from the disease has climbed to 7052. A total of 3,23,225 patients have so far recovered from the disease in Uttarakhand. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.35 and the sample positivity rate is at 6.35 percent in the state.
Out of the eight deaths from the disease reported on Tuesday, three occurred at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun while two patients were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh.
Dehradun district reported 70, Almora 23, Champawat 17, Nainital 13 and Haridwar 11 new cases of Covid -19 on Tuesday. All the remaining eight districts of the state reported less than ten cases on the day.
The state now has 2,896 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 576 cases while Haridwar is in second position with 291 active cases. Pithoragarh has 349, Nainital 233,Bageshwar 207, Almora 189, Pauri 182, Tehri 160, Champawat 128, Rudraprayag 124, Uttarkashi 123, Chamoli 120 and Udham Singh Nagar 114 active cases of the disease.
The state reported eight new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Tuesday after which it now has 465 patients of the disease. Death of one patient from Black Fungus was reported on the day. A total of 82 patients have so far died from this disease while 65 have recovered.
In the vaccination drive a record 1,23,225 people were vaccinated in 896 session held on the day. A total of 7,41,621 people have been fully vaccinated while 30,47,768 people have been partially vaccinated in the state.
