Covid-19; 1801 vaccine sessions held in U’khand
97418 healthcare workers and frontline workers have so far received the vaccine jabs. 48 new cases, two deaths reported on Thursday
In the ongoing vaccination drive in Uttarakhand which got started on January 16, a total of 97418 healthcare workers and frontline workers have so far received the vaccine jabs. On Thursday, 7135 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 137 vaccine sessions held in different parts of the state.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that a total of 1801 vaccine sessions have so far been held in the state. He said that 6789 front line workers and 346 health care workers were vaccinated on Thursday. In Haridwar 25 vaccine sessions were held on the day in which 916 beneficiaries were vaccinated while 834 frontline workers were vaccinated in Dehradun in 22 sessions. In Nainital 1014 frontline workers were vaccinated in 15 vaccine sessions.
Meanwhile the number of patients of Covid-19 increased to 96673 in the state on Thursday with the state health department reporting 48 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of two patients from the disease which increased the death toll to 1676 in the state. The authorities discharged 77 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Thursday. A total of 92950 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.15. One patient of the disease each was reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital and Kailash hospital Dehradun on Thursday.
The health department reported 17 new patients of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 14 from Nainital, seven from Haridwar, three each from Chamoli and Udham Singh Nagar, two from Tehri and one each from Almora and Pithoragarh districts on Thursday. No new patients of the disease were reported from Bageshwar, Champawat, Pauri, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts on Thursday.
The state now has only 669 active patients of the disease. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 121 patients. Nainital has 104, Almora 83, Bageshwar 68, Dehradun 66, Udham Singh Nagar 50, Pithoragarh 49, Pauri 30, Chamoli 26, Tehri 24, Rudraprayag 19, Uttarkashi 15 and Champawat 14 active cases of the disease.
