Covid-19; 513 new cases, 3,088 recoveries in U’khand on Wednesday

Uttarakhand reported 513 new cases of Covid-19 and 22 deaths from the disease on Wednesday. The authorities also reported 3,088 recoveries from the disease on the day. The state now has 3,35,478 ( cumulative) patients with the disease while a total of 6,849 patients have succumbed to the disease so far. A total of 3,13,379 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery percentage has climbed to 93.43 per cent. The samples of 23,676 suspected patients were sent for testing on Wednesday and the sample positivity rate is at 6.67 per cent.
Out of the 13 deaths reported on Wednesday, six occurred at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun while death of four patients each occurred at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun.
The authorities also added 30 deaths in the toll which had occurred in the past but were not reported earlier. Twenty six of these deaths were reported from Dehradun district alone. The AIIMS Rishikesh reported 21 deaths which had occurred in the past on Wednesday.
The provisional state capital Dehradun reported 114, Almora 89, Haridwar 79, Nainital 51, Pauri 35, Pithoragarh 32, Chamoli 25, Uttarkashi 19, Udham Singh Nagar 18, Tehri 17, Bageshwar 16, Rudraprayag 10 and Champawat eight cases of the disease on Wednesday.
The state now has 9,258 active patients of the disease. Haridwar is the top position in the list of active cases with 1,714 cases. Pauri has 1,444, Nainital 900, Almora 816, Bageshwar 731, Pithoragarh 726, Champawat 554, Chamoli 536, Tehri 518, Dehradun 476, Uttarkashi 328, Rudraprayag 283 and Udham Singh Nagar 232 active cases of the disease.
The state has so far reported 335 patients of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and out of them 50 have died while 18 have recovered from the disease.
In the ongoing vaccination drive 38,872 people were vaccinated in 405 sessions in different parts of the state on Wednesday. A total of 6,90,383 people have been fully vaccinated while 24,60,371 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
