Covid-19: 6,077 receive vaccine shots on Monday
Only 51 new cases of Covid-19 reported on Monday
A total of 6077 people were vaccinated in 104 vaccine sessions held in different parts of the state on Monday. The chief operations officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that 37,305 people so far have been vaccinated in 605 vaccine sessions in the state. In Dehradun 29 vaccine sessions were held on the day in which 142 people were vaccinated. In Haridwar 100 people received vaccines in 31 sessions while in Udham Singh Nagar 72 persons were administered vaccines. Similarly 71 people were vaccinated in Nainital, 38 in Pauri, 33 in Almora, 30 in Tehri 22 each in Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi, 20 each in Chamoli and Rudraprayag, 18 in Bageshwar and 17 in Champawat on the day.
Meanwhile the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases increased to 96,180 in the state on Monday with the state health department reporting 51 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of four patients from the disease which increased the death toll to 1648 in the state. The authorities discharged 139 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Monday. A total of 92105 patients have recovered from the disease in the state and the recovery percentage is now at 95.76 while the sample positivity rate is 4.49 percent.
One patient each of Covid-19 was reported dead at Himalayan hospital Jollygrant, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Velmed hospital Dehradun and Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani on the day.
The health department reported 27 new patients from Dehradun, nine from Haridwar, eight from Nainital, three from Udham Singh Nagar, two from Almora and one each from Chamoli and Uttarkashi on Monday. No new case of the disease was reported from the districts of Bageshwar, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Tehri. The state now has only 1081 active patients of the disease. Nainital district has now overtaken Dehradun district in the number of active cases of the disease. This district has 184 active patients. Dehradun has 172, Haridwar 163, Bageshwar 125, Udham Singh Nagar 113, Almora 100, Pithoragarh 67, Tehri 58, Pauri 30, Uttarkashi 23, Rudraprayag 21, Chamoli 15 and Champawat 10 active cases of the disease.
