Covid-19; 81 new patients reported in U’khand on Saturday

The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand increased to 96949 on Saturday with the state health department reporting 81 new cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of one patient from the disease which increased the death toll to 1692 in the state. The authorities discharged 29 patients of the pandemic from different hospitals on Saturday following their recovery from the disease. A total of 93442 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state.  The recovery percentage from the disease now stands at 96.38 and the sample positivity rate is 4.07 percent.

A 29 year old woman, a Covid-19 positive patient was reported dead at CHC Munsyari, Pithoragarh on Saturday.   The contagion of Covid-19 completed 50 weeks on Saturday. The first case of the disease was reported on March 15. During this period the state conducted more than 24 lakh tests for detecting the disease. The health department reported 42 new patients of the disease in Dehradun district on the day. Here 1542 samples were tested in different labs on Saturday. Similarly 29 patients were found in Haridwar, five in Tehri, four in Nainital and one in Udham Singh Nagar district on the day. No new patients were reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts on Saturday.

The state now has 421 active patients of Covid-19. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 130 patients. Dehradun with 101 active patients is now at second position; Nainital has 60, Pauri 30, Udham Singh Nagar 21, Almora 23, Tehri 18, Champawat 14, Chamoli 10, Uttarkashi nine, Bageshwar four, Rudraprayag one active cases of the disease. Pithoragarh district has no active cases of the district. 

Meanwhile in the ongoing vaccination drive against Covid-19 remained suspended on the day for updating the CoWin portal. A total of 20319 beneficiaries have so far been fully vaccinated in the state.
